Based on the Agreement between the Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Austria on the Utilisation of the River Inn and its Tributaries in the Border Region of and its tributaries in the border region of 29 October 2003, with the commissioning of the Inn joint power plant in November 2022 the monthly share of the offered capacity (OC) in the long term at the AT/CH border in the direction AT => CH will be reduced by 12 MW.
The reduction in offered capacity will be achieved by means of a priority right for the Swiss energy share of the Inn joint power plant. The granting of the priority right is handled according to the use-it-or-lose-it principle in the long term, and if the priority right is not exercised, the right to the reserved capacity expires, which is subsequently made available to the market again.
The Swiss energy share held in reserve may change slightly in the course of commissioning.
