Requirements for generators (RFG)
Principal objectives and contents
Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/631 establishing a network code on requirements for grid connection of generators (NC RfG) entered into force on 17 May 2016.
The NC RfG sets out harmonised rules for grid connection for electricity generation facilities. This is to:

provide a clear legal framework for grid connections;

facilitate Union-wide trade in electricity;

ensure system security;
-
facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources; and
-
increase competition, for the benefit of consumers
